"Petula"
|
Update 6/3. Petula is taking her heart medicaiton and is doing very well. It would be wonderful if she could have some happy years after the puppymill ............ Update Took Petula to the vet today to have her cough checked and she was found to be in congestive heart failure. The vet gave me the medications to help her, he said she can still live a long time on those meds. They are inexpensive. I thought she had heartworm or kennel cough. I am hoping to still find her a home so she can enjoy her freedom now that she is out of the puppymill. Her coughing has nearly subsided on the medications for her heart. Update 2/17.... No one has applied to adopt Petula so we had to allow Olivia to go on without her mother . She is doing well in her new home. Petula still needs a home. // Adoption Information: Petula and Olivia are mom and daughter puppymill survivors. They are medium size pom girls with lots of hair, here to find a home of their own. They are friendly and like people. Petula is mom and she is about seven years old, She is a reddish gold color and as happy as can be. Olivia is a pale yellow color and about two years old. She is a bit more shy but trys very hard to get noticed. They are both adorable. Wouldnt it be sweet if they could live together.Contact me at Bonnwright@aol.com for an application to adopt. Petulas adoption fee is a $100 donation to our rescue medical fund. She is papertrained.

"Benny"

Benny is a six year old long haired chihuahua male here to find a new home. He is not good with young children and doesnt like to share his food with anyone else. He is good with his caretaker, just has a few quirks, like all chihuahuas. He is not a barker. He knows some cute tricks, he can roll over and play dead . He loves to sleep in bed, and is very affectionate. He should be a good pet for someone who is chi knowledgeable. Contact bonnwright@aol.com for an application to adopt this cute little fella. He sure needs a home. No children please.

"Earth Angel"
Earth Angel went to the vet today. Her legs were xrayed. The leg bones on one leg are bent , may have been an injury a long time ago. They are healed now. The vet thought there is also some soft tissue damage, that doesnt show on the xrays. He also said that she had some abnormality of her pelvis. I suspect that she may have been kicked and injured long ago and now it is healed over. We are to continue with the glucosamine which she is doing very well on and leave things be. Surgery at this point would be too traumatic. She is getting around fine . The only time she uses just three legs is when she wants to go super fast. She has adjusted . Earth Angel is ready for adoption to a select home. She is still very fearful and her biggest battle will be learning to trust humans. She will take food out of my hand now but still doesnt like being picked up. She will sit next to my chair when I am on the computer and I can reach down and touch her head. It will just take time. She will need an owner with a lot of patience and a big heart. Her adoption fee is a $100. ________________________________ PuppyMill Survivor now has a name , "Earth Angel". It just fits her so well. Thanks to everyone that suggested names for her. She is doing well. She was known as "Small Tan" at the puppymill . She has been passed around from breeder to breeder. Her situation getting worse as her age gave her less value as a breeding dog. Amazing, she is still alive as a senior and lucky enough to find her way into rescue. Her legs are crooked and must give her pain. When she walks she hold one back leg up in the air. Maybe it was broken at one time. She has nothing but a few rotten teeth left . She smelled horrible when I picked her up and I am sure she never had a bath in her entire life. I asked what her name was , they said " We just call her Small Tan". Just a description so they knew which dog out of the many , no terms of endearment in any of these places. Only tattoos and metal collars with their usda numbers. The usda calls puppymilling , alternative farming. They inspect these establishments but never really look at the condition of the dog, maybe only the environment. The dogs suffer on with eye infections, ear infections, advanced dental disease. Their medical needs neglected, they are there only to produce puppies to be sold to make money for the owner. If you ever buy a puppy , ask to see the parents . Dont buy a puppy unless you can see them and the environment they live in. I asked how old Small Tan was and they didnt know. They just "dont want her anymore and dont want to feed a dog that aint gonna breed for them". So I took her home and gave her canned food. She really likes that. She has been eating well . She cant believe she has a soft blanket to sleep on and good food to eat. She is so happy to be here. Small Tan needs xrays of her legs, maybe surgery. She needs a dental to have the remaining rotten teeth taken out of her mouth and any roots still there, removed. She needs antibiotics to treat the gum infection. She needs to be spayed. If you can help Small Tan in any way, let us know. You can send donations to our vet for her care ( email me for their address) or send to our paypal account under limberlostdogs@aol.com. I cant do it alone. She also needs a new name, something really special . A name that would let anyone know she is cared for and she is loved . Something she missed out on caged in a puppymill for all those years. And Most of all she needs a home with someone who understands everything she has been through . A home where she can live out the remainder of her life in comfort . She needs a home where she will be cared for and respected as a fellow living creature. If you cant adopt a pet right now, you can still help the rescue dogs by donating to their ongoing care. Send your donation thru Paypal to LimberlostDogs@aol.com to help out, or email for our snail mail address. It is appreciated.
Earth Angel today (Sept. 2007) in her new home. It is too bad she spent most of her life caged and neglected, I wish I could have found her sooner. At least she will spend the rest of her years, happy, cared for and without pain and hunger.
