"Molly"
After finding her perfect forever home, Molly~ARPH#9796 finds herself in need of another loving home due to the illness of one of her owners.

Molly is a beautiful 5 year old blue merle Aussie with one blue eye and one brown eye. She is definitely a “people person” and loves to be petted. Molly is usually quiet and very gentle, but will let you know when someone comes to the door. She would prefer being the only dog in the household, but she can tolerate other animals.

Molly seems to like children who will pet her and take her on walks, but she isn’t big on playing aggressively. I believe her ideal home would be one made up primarily of adults, with children around 10 years of age and older. We haven’t seen how she responds to infants or toddlers.

Molly is a sweet girl who will chase cars and trucks if given the opportunity. She has marvelous jumping capabilities and would need a fenced in yard for her safety. When we take her to the local Bark Park, she will run around some, but prefers to seek out people and beg shamelessly to be petted. She knows a few commands such as “Come”, “sit”, “down”, “up”.

Molly has a fear of thunder and lightning. On the vets recommendation, it is suggested that she be given Melatonin (over the counter dietary supplement) when a storm is expected. In addition, the vet has also prescribed Valium to help with her anxiety. Other than this, Molly is a perfect dog who requires so little to make her happy. She is housebroken and loves to be taken for walks and car rides. She can only be adopted by someone who will promise to love her and treat her with care and respect.

"Pepper"
PEPPER NEEDS YOUR HELP!!

Pepper is a young blue merle female brought to a shelter after being found hit by a car. Little is known about her at this time, although she is a sweet dog. Pepper needs surgery to put a dislocated elbow back in place, although we do not know if this will be successful. She may still lose her leg. Recuperation from this surgery will take many weeks, but she will be able to lead a good life with her new family. She will be spayed and UTD on shots and is Heartworm negative. Pepper will be recovering in Henderson, Kentucky.

PEPPER is due to have surgery on February 26. As you can imagine this surgery will be expensive. Donations of any amount toward her medical bills are welcomed and greatly appreciated. Please click on the following link to donate. Donations are deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

When she is fully recovered, Pepper will be ready to go to her new home. If you would like to adopt Pepper please contact Jane at augiehills@yahoo.com or Anne at apritch@roadrunner.com to complete an adoption application.

On behalf of all of us at ARPH and Pepper, thank you for your generosity.

"Midnight"

This is Midnight. He was pulled from a central KY shelter when the original owner brought him in and complained that he barked too much! He didn’t seem to understand that Midnight was a herding dog and that they can bark!

Midnight has settled in well with our other foster dogs and is an avid player with all. He is such a happy go lucky guy, and just wants to have fun! Midnight is approx 3-4 yrs old and is a black bi neutered male. He has a full tail and small bit of white on his chest and on a couple of toes. He really is quite the beauty!

Midnight’s issue currently seems to be with men. He is frightened of them and at this time prefers women. We are working on this and hopefully over time he will relax a bit more. Midnight is UTD on his vaccs and is heartworm negative. He rides well in a car (crate) and we are working on walking on a leash. He is a puller, and just happy boy to be going for a walk! A fenced in yard would work best for Midnight along with continued socialization. Do you have room in your heart for Midnight?

An adoption application is required, please contact Anne Pritchett at apritch@roadrunner.com or Jane Hills at augiehills@yahoo.com for more information.

"Molly"
Hi My name is Molly! I am a 3 year old Beagle/terrier mix. I was pulled from an overcrowded shelter 2 days before my life was about to end. I am a sweet, little firecracker and would love to come home with you! I am a small want to be lap dog and LOVE to give kisses. I will warm up to other dogs but I was used to defending myself when I was behind bars and may be a little unsure at first. Once I know they want to be friends with me everything will be ok. I am probably a little to active for cats. I will probably chase them all the time! I love to run and play. I am up to date on all vaccines and am already spayed. I am also crate trained and could pick up real fast on house training rules if had a refresher course! Please call and ask about me, in your home is where I want to be!

To learn more about me please call Noreen Mears at 663-6630.

"Ethel"

Ethel is a female spayed Chow mix that was found walking in the middle of a very busy street in Knoxville, TN. I believe she is about 2-3 years old. She is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met and loves nothing more than to ride around in the car with me. She gets along great with dogs and cats but really would prefer to be around a loving human. When she gets kisses in the nose, her tail wags wildly.

Ethel would make a great pet for anyone with a little patience because she does have some ear problems. Due to some sort of trauma to her ear, it has built up a great deal of scar tissue and in effect, swells her ear. Because of this, she does get ear infections but they are treatable. She also has a bit of a limp but it doesn't stop her in the least. She's great at walking on a leash, but not a great jumper. Ethel's problems are also her charm. Once you get to know her, you'll fall in love with this wonderful dog!

"Ben"

Ben, a German Shepherd mix (brindle) is around 9 years old (we think but his exact age is unknown as we rescued him 2 years ago and were told he was 7) He is a wonderful gentleman, he is docile, gentle, rarely barks and is fine with our elderly cat and with children. He loves to go out for walks, playing, restling and generally being with his loved ones. He has been neutered, micro chipped and had the rabies vaccination and lives in Aloha Oregon (just outside Portland)

"George"

George is a 3 year old hound mix, and is so mellow, sweet, and lovable! He's neutered, up-to-date on shots, and in great health. He needs a responsible, compassionate family to welcome him into their home. He's been without a home for several years, living at a shelter, which is no place for a dog to live its entire life.

George comes with free obedience lessons at the place of your choice, if you desire to take him to obedience school, a free doggy life jacket, video, and dog book on care for your new buddy.

Adoption fee is $65.00, which is a bargain, given the amount that is spent on vet bills for rescues - plus you get all kinds of free extras with this huggable guy.

Contact Snugglezzz@AOL.com for more info. He's in Oklahoma and will melt your heart.

"Naka"
NAKA is THE best Boxer I've EVER fostered. Flashy fawn w/ cropped ears, 6-7 yrs old, housebroken, obedience trained, healthy and vaccinations up to date.

I originally placed her with a family almost 4 years ago. She is here because her family lost their home and had to move into a small no-pet apartment. They love her dearly and took great care of her. She loves kids. She follows them around, watches them when they play in the yard and sleeps on their beds.

She has NO bad habits at all, and I mean none. She's highly intelligent and loves all other animals. She lives peacfully with a cat (but chases stray outdoor ones) plays nicely with guinea pigs, rats and house rabbits.

The only thing extra she requires is a daily chewable pill which eliminates a small urine leakage problem she has when she sleeps. Three month supply costs $40.

She is accustomed to being pampered so must be allowed on the couch or have her own chair. Perfect for an active family: loves car rides, long walks, runs at the dog park like a Greyhound, is a good camper/hiker, loves the water and playing in the ocean surf.

Adoption fee $200 and home visit required. Will only place with an exceptional, Boxer experienced family.
