"Zoe"
Zoe is a gorgeous chocolate lab/pit mix with golden eyes who came in as a stray to the shelter 9/17. After staying at the shelter for a month, she is now living in a boarding kennel. In spite of this, she is extremely affectionate and loving. She is an intelligent girl who is eager to learn and very responsive. Zoe needs an owner who will take her on walks and work with her on her inside manners. She loves people and other dogs.

Zoe is about a year old, spayed, microchipped and fully-vetted. She tested heartworm negative and has been on Heartguard and Frontline.

If you can provide a loving home for Zoe, please email bev_bozeman@earthlink.net

"Max"
Max appears to be a Lab/Dalmatian cross. He is approximately 90-100 lbs. and around 5-6 years of age. He is neutered and up to date on shots.

Max needs to be in a home with no other animals and no small children. This is a dog who is STRONGLY protective of his home and his owners. He has gone through dog training, but still has issues. Max has attacked a second dog in his current home twice due to his overprotective nature. He is uncomfortable with strangers, but as long as he is on a tight lead, and is not approached by the stranger, he is usually good until he is used to having the new person in his space. I have just learned that he has thyroid disease, which has is being treated - maybe a cause for the aggression?

Owners are willing to pay shipping to anywhere in the US if a responsible, caring home can be found. Max is also crate trained and doggie door trained. He is located in Henderson (Las Vegas) NV.

Here are 2 pictures of Max. One is Max hanging out, the other shows his size (he's obviously the one in front!) and that he is included in family activities often with his current family.

"Brandy"

Brandy is approximately 9 years old. Rescued from a pound 7 years ago, spayed, healthy, weighs about 65 pounds, shots and preventatives up to date, vet records available. Belonged to my brother who recently died. Extremely aggressive with all other dogs; my brother was sick for many years before he died and was home so much of the time, with the help of a medication, he could control the aggressiveness.

In an effort to prevent her from being euthanized, I have attempted to keep her, but I have a Chow-Golden mix who only wants to play, and she is totally terrorized by Brandy; I am unable to control the aggressiveness and can no longer keep her.

It is difficult to believe that an animal so aggressive to other dogs can be so sweet and gentle with people, but she is truly absolutely a dear, sweet dog. She would be a great dog for someone who has no other dogs and truly perfect for someone who might be skittish about being home alone (because she looks vicious). She has never been aggressive with any people, even children, but she has never spent much time around young children; my niece was 13 years old when Brandy joined the family; she is now away at college and cannot take her either. My sister-in-law has her hands full with other dogs and cats and running a household alone (before he died, my brother told her it, would be OK to euthanize Brandy, but I really want to avoid that drastic act for a wonderful dog.

She exhibits traits of an abused animal, cowering when yelled at and rolling over when she knows she been caught doing something she should not have done. She is quite intelligent, curious and adventuresome, and loves chasing squirrels and playing with bones (prefers carrying and flinging them around over actually chewing them). She has never been destructive to property.

I live in Greenville, SC and will welcome visits from any potential new masters. I would also take her any where an adopting person lives within a 150 mile radius, or have her transported further at my expense. If the person who agrees to adopt her has a difficult time getting her to adapt, I will take her back (Once she gets used to a place, she should be fine, but it did take a couple of weeks for her to settle in when I first brought her home with me; at that time, she was clearly horribly depressed because she didn't understand why my brother was not around anymore - and he had been a constant companion; she didn't eat for several days; but I have not spent nearly as much time with her and I do not think she is quite so attached to me anyway; if her next master spends time with her, I think she will be thrilled and then happily adjusted).
