 Max is a little sweetie pie, who loves to smush up against you and give you kisses. He's a first rate snuggler and likes to have his chest rubbed, or anywhere else for that matter. He lived with 2 toddlers in his prior home; that home turned him into a shelter because they didn't have time for him. He was very scared in the shelter and really is much happier to be in a foster home. When he first came from the shelter he would submissive pee a lot, but that has greatly improved as he's spent time in a normal environment and is pretty much a non-issue now. Max is crate trained, housebroken, loves to play fetch with tennis balls, and is learning basic commands. He has very good off-leash recall as well. Max currently lives with 3 dogs and 1 cat, he would be happy as an only dog or with others. He really enjoys playing with other dogs. Max needs a home that will continue his basic obedience training and throw the ball for him, and just soak up all the love he has to give. Riley was turned into rescue when his owners decided that the young dog they had in their backyard was too much of a bother to keep! Luckily Riley had grown a beautiful lush coat to protect him from the cold winter in Nebraska. He much prefers living life on the inside! Riley is crate trained, housebroken, learning basic commands and is in general a very entertaining goofball! He like to play fetch and is getting better at bringing the toy back to you. He does have a fair amount of energy, being an adolescent dog, but is not over the top by any means. I got Simon 4 years ago, when he had very nearly starved to death after being left in the woods for 2 months. It will be very difficult to part with him, but I just feel deeply that he would not be happy in NYC due to the chaos, lack of green, lack of space, etc. So I am looking for a fabulous new home for him! Simon is 6 years old, in good health, and very calm. He is good with kids and other dogs (and I was told before I got him, good with cats -- I haven't tested that theory). Half Newfoundland/ Half Lab -- got the Newfoundland coat. He doesn't drool and doesn't bark much. (But has a ferocious bark when necessary -- good guard dog). He does not eat shoes! Simon is a wonderful dog. He has been my angel and I am really going to grieve him when he goes to someone else. He is a very calming presence. I am willing to drive hours to take him to someone if they offer the right situation for him. I would like to find him a new home as soon as possible. Simon is currently living in Louisville KY.
