"Pinkie"
Hi! I'm Pinkie And I'm looking for a SUPER Special Home!
I'm an almost 2-year old Dalmatian Labrador mix. I am a high energy and fun loving girl who loves to explore new things. What makes me special is that I am deaf. Can you believe it? I can't hear the sound of a can opener knowing it's dinner time……or can't hear someone walking by when I'm sleeping soundly.
So, what's my story, I'm sure you want to know. Well, I was surrendered to CT Humane Society as 'Baby Pinkie". I was only 16 weeks old. I was adopted out shortly after my arrival, but sadly, came back to the shelter after 11 months. I was SEVERLY overweight, which didn't help my knees or hips. So, I was put on a diet and have lost OVER 20 pounds! What a relief on my body! I can move around so great now! I love to run, but have to be careful of doing TOO much, so I don't injure my already-sensitive knees.
I just spent three weeks at a foster home, where I enjoyed swimming therapy for my body. Wow - did I enjoy swimming, especially during this heat!! It would be great to go to a family who has a pool - but it's not a requirement! I would enjoy walks on the water too!
I loved the other dogs in the foster home too! I played with one of them all the time! Above is a picture of us chilling out. I would LOVE to go home with another dog that I could play with. I would just have to make sure you have a fenced-in yard!
What my foster home also learned about me is that my water intake has to be limited at night. I am on medicine that helps, but sometimes, if I drink too much water before bedtime……..I have an accident overnight. I don't mean to, so my new home would have to be aware of limiting how much I drink.
I slept soundly in my crate at night and didn't make a peep. During the day, I was in an outdoor pen, but would do fine in a crate inside too.
Hopefully you'll ask to see me. I am a happy girl, that doesn't know I have a few problems. Will you be that 'Special Someone" I need in my life?

"Parris"
My neighbors recently moved and decided to leave this sweet girl behind. She is almost 3 years old. Her name is Parris. She is spayed. I have seen her grow from puppy to adult. She is very sweet, great with kids. She is a bit on the anxious side due to her having little contact with people or other animals. They basically put her in their backyard and left her there. Since she was small I have been feeding her 3-4 times a week. She is starved for attention and just wants to love on everyone. She also smiles... Which is adorable because not all dogs smile. But she does.
If you are interested in Parris and would like more information please contact Monica.
