"Bandit"
This cutie is Bandit, an 8 week old (as of 3/19/09) male Australian shepherd with a tail.
Bandit is mostly white with patches of blue merle on his face and body, with one on his butt that looks like he sat in a mud puddle! He has beautiful blue eyes, although his vision is limited. He is also deaf. This is due to his being a double merle, the result of irresponsible breeders. Bandit does not let this limit his enjoyment of life. He gets around the house and yard easily, plays merrily with his sister Sally and the big dogs in his foster home.
Bandit likes nothing more than to lay on the floor near you, or preferably in your lap, being cuddled and falling asleep. He keeps his crate clean, has a mellow nature and is learning that he needs to go outside for potty breaks.
Bandit would do well in a home with other dogs and a fenced yard would be best to keep him safe. With his easy nature he would make a great therapy dog! Bandit is UTD on shots and will be neutered around 12 weeks of age. Adoption application and reference checks are required. Please contact Jane at augiehills@yahoo.com to apply.

"Sally"
This chubby little girl is Sally, an 8 week old (as of 3/19/09) female Australian shepherd with a tail.
Sally is mostly white with two small patches of blue merle, one on her hip and one on her head. She has pale blue eyes, and like her brother Bandit, her vision is limited and she is also deaf. This is due to being a double merle, the result of irresponsible breeders.
Sally is not one bit limited by her handicaps and has a feisty, “watch out world” attitude! She never hesitates to start the action with her surrogate “mom”, a 40 pound Samoyed. She keeps her crate clean and is learning that she needs to go outside for potty breaks. Sally would do well in a home with other dogs and will need a fenced yard to keep her safe. Sally is UTD on shots and will be spayed around 12 weeks of age. Adoption application and reference checks are required. Please contact Jane at augiehills@yahoo.com to apply.

"Turbo"
Turbo is a very sweet boy. When he approaches you, he crouches down and rolls over and tries to get in your lap. He's little timid in his approach, but is a huge love bug. He is about 8 months old. He was neutered and microchipped and also heartworm tested (negative). He was vaccinated (both DA2PP and rabies) and was given bordatella at animal control. He has been wormed with both pyrantel and panacur and will be treated with Revolution today.
Turbo was turned in by his owner's mom. Her daughter had been neglecting him. He has had some obedience training and is a very smart boy. He does not have any hearing or vision problems and he gets along wonderfully with other dogs- he loves to play. He's been around children, my youngest is 6 and he loves her as well. We want to make sure that he gets into a great home who understands this type of dog!
Additional photos of Turbo are available.

"Auggie"

Auggie’s story is one of hope and heartbreak. Brought into the local shelter, he was passed over for adoption. Eventually a local rescue took him and said they’d find him a home. Some time passed and this "rescue" turned into a horrible hoarding case, with nearly all the animals neglected and suffering from mange. Auggie was rescued once again and brought back to the shelter where a kind volunteer took him home.
Auggie is a beautiful blue merle male around 3 years old, very active and friendly. He is good with other dogs, has interest in cats that run, but otherwise ignores them. He knows sit, down, roll over and shake. Auggie loves to run after tennis balls and has already made his own obstacle course in the backyard at his current home. Agility seems to be in his future!
Auggie is heartworm negative, housetrained and will be neutered and UTD on all his shots prior to adoption. Because he was housed with so many dogs he developed kennel cough and was at risk for mange. He has finished his meds for kennel cough and has been given a clean bill of health for that. He was given two dips with lime sulphur and had an application of Revolution for the mange.
Through all of this turmoil and heartbreak he has remained a sweet, happy guy. Can you give Auggie a home that will erase the memories of past troubles? Please contact Jane at augiehills@yahoo.com for more information on giving Auggie the home he deserves.
