"Goldie"
Goldie is a 2 year old, 16 pound, female Pekingese that was picked up as a stray in southern Ohio. Unclaimed, she was offered to rescue. She is pictured in full coat, a lovely strawberry blond, with a self-mask and white markings, but will be clipped down this month -- June 2006.

Goldie has been completely vetted, all shots, booster, parvo, rabies, heartworm test was negative and she is on monthly preventative. Her teeth were cleaned and she was spayed. After she arrived, her foster Mom, Audrey, had her microchipped.

Goldie has been abused, she will NOT hesitate to defend herself. I will only place her in an adult home, no small children or grandchildren. She does not appear to like other dogs or cats, so she must be the only pet. Goldie is paper trained, I do not know if she is housebroken. Goldie is shy and does not trust -- until she knows you -- so she must be given time to re-adjust. Once she knows and trusts, she is sweet and loving.

If you feel you are the person, or family that can give her the love and attention that has been denied her -- please fill out the Application to Adopt -- Home Visit -- Adoption Donation, Adoption Contract, References Required. For more information, email Audrianne@Voyager.net -- Goldie must be picked up at the home of the foster Mom, Audrey, in Mentor, Ohio -- east of Cleveland -- I DO NOT SHIP OR TRANSPORT.

"Danny"
Danny is a darling 7-8 year old -- 7 pound red sable Pekingese male. He is out of show stock, has a wonderful loving personality, gets along with other small dogs and ignores our cats. I will place Danny only with a stay at home Mom or someone who works out of their home - no children under 10 - no large dogs - other small Pekingese friends preferred. I believe Danny is housebroken as he waits every morning for his doggie door to open so he can potty outside.

Danny is up to date on all shots, is heartworm negative and on Interceptor, had his teeth cleaned and is neutered. He is wonderful to groom, loves to be brushed and has no problem with a bath or anyone cutting his nails. He carries a very full heavy coat and unless you are familiar with using clippers -- a groomer would be advisable every 8 weeks or so.

For more information, please contact his foster Mom, Audrey -- Audrianne@Voyager.net -- Application to Adopt -- Home visit -- Adoption Donation (his vet bill) -- Adoption Contract -- References Required. I do not ship or transport -- Danny would need to be pick up at my home in Mentor, east of Cleveland, Ohio.

"Tiny Tim"
Tiny Tim is a darling little 7 pound -- 8-10 year old Pekingese male. He is black with white on his chest and carries a silver undercoat. He has very short little legs and cannot do any stairs. Thus he will need a home that will carry him outdoors or one with no steps. He loves to go outside to potty but he is also paper trained. Timmy will only be placed in a home with a stay-at-home Mom, no small children, no large dogs -- another small Pekingese or two would be perfect.

Timmy is up to date on all shots, is heartworm negative and on preventative (Interceptor). He is scheduled to have his teeth cleaned and neutered on June 15, 2006 - so will be available at the end of June.

For more information on Timmy, please contact his foster Mom, Audrey -- Audrianne@Voyager.net -- Application to Adopt -- Home Visit -- Adoption Donation (his vet bill) -- Adoption Contract -- References Required. I do not ship or transport, Timmy would need to be picked up at my home in Mentor, east of Cleveland, Ohio.

"Houdini"
Houdini was pulled from a Cleveland kill shelter as room was needed and this guy was just too sweet to be put down. He is a small/medium size boy, weighing about 35-40 pounds. We believe he is about 3 years of age. He was listed as a Pekingese-Mix and the shelter felt he could have Chow Chow in him -- but he is so sweet natured and loving, it's difficult to know what mix is in him. He has a long thick coat and should be kept in a puppy cut by a Groomer every 8 weeks or so. If this is not in your budget, please do not apply to adopt him. We had him trimmed and he was great for the Groomer.

Houdini is up to date with all his shots, and is neutered. He enjoys being a lap dog, but also likes to take walks around the neighborhood. From his name, you can tell he is a great escape artist - and will not hesitate to go for a walk on his own -- thus he can never be off a leash. Fenced-in adult home -- without children under 10 -- preferred.

For an Application to Adopt - Please contact his foster Mom, Robin, RK Death Row Dog Rescue, in Perry, Ohio (east of Cleveland) doggonegoodcookies@hotmail.com -- or by phone -- 8 am to 10 pm -- 440--259-3344 -- References, Adoption Donation, Adoption Contract Required.

Note: To help pay expenses for all of Robin's rescues, she runs a DOG BAKERY. She bakes and sells "Dog Gone Good Cookies" over northeast Ohio. You can find them at all the heinens stores, (avon, rocky river, bay village, middleburg hts, brecksville, twinsburg, aurora, bainbridge, chardon, mentor, willoughby, mayfield, lander, chagrin and ceder) the tops in painesville, giant eagles in madison, geneva and saybrook, the petland on lee rd in cleveland heights, and an art gallery in avon lake by the name of "fra angelica". They are an all natural, preservative free cookie with no artificle colors or additives and are low fat and are oven baked for a cruchy taste dogs love. She has a display made up of photos of dogs up for adoption and those that have already been adopted. Her dog cookies (secret recipe) have liver and garlic in them -- the dogs LOVE them.

"Joe"

Joe is an approximately 8 moth old male Staffordshire terrier saved from the animal shelter. He is neutered and up to date on all his shots. He is also heart worm negative and has no intestinal worms. He is a wonderfully energetic dogs who loves people, dogs, cats, babies, anything that will possibly love him back. He is currently living with a shar pei, a pit mix, and a sheltie. They all get a long great!

Joe is crate trained, responds to "sit" about 90% of the time, and has shown no aggression. He doesn't like other dogs in the room when he is eating in his crate, but a sharp "no" sets that to rights. I have a dog that looks just like him, and they are both attention lovers. Joe would be great for an active person or someone with kids, and I think he also has the potentials for agility. A 50$ adoption fee is requested to cover the cost of neuter and shots.

If you think Joe would be great for your "pack", please email me at katikat02@comcast.net. I live in Little rock, AR, and am willing to drive to the state border for a new mom and dad.

"Allie"
Active Senior!!

"Allie" is my name and waiting has been my game! I have been here a long time and am starting to pine for an owner with which to spend the rest of my life! I am a mature lady, Lab/Heeler mix, around 10 years old, spayed, shots are current, teeth recently cleaned, blood work fine and just really need a home of my own again. The problem has been that I am 'too big' for the folks that come to this rescue looking for a new companion. They all want the tiny ones but I am not that big at 28-30 pounds, really I am not big!

If you can overlook the frost around my muzzle, mostly due to the coloring of the Heeler side of my parentage, and give me a chance I will love you forever. I am loyal, loving, protective of my home and prefer the company of male dogs, if there are others already there. I don't really like dogs smaller than I am or other females but a home with a male dog my size or larger would be fine. If you are the one to give me a chance I will 'woo woo' with happiness and bounce right out and into your car and life!

"Tiffany"
Tiffany is a small size chihuahua girl that came to us from a commercial kennel. She weighs six to seven lbs. She is about 6 years old and has lived in a cage her entire life. She was never properly socialized to people and now she is afraid of humans and afraid to move around freely. She has been here for two weeks and is hiding in the corner still. Eventually she will come out and move around. I try to hold her at night while watching tv to get her use to being handled. She is not a biter.

Tiffany deserves more out of live and hopefully she will turn around and I will find someone who will give her a home where she will be comfortable. She may never be a totally normal pet but she still deserves a home with someone to care about her, good food and a soft place to sleep. If you think you can help Tiffany, contact me at bonnwright@aol.com. She will be spayed, have a dental and be brought up to date on shots before leaving our rescue.

"Momma"

Hello my name is “Momma”. I am a 2 year old energetic female mix. Six months ago I was seen wandering around lake Herman looking for food. I get along with other cats and birds. I love going to the dog park and I especially love human attention. I know how to sit, stay, heel and play.

Momma is spayed and current on all of her vaccinations. She is also microchipped.

"Dylan"
Dylan is an 8-year-old neutered male Papillon who is just as sweet as he can be! He is a little shy and will move away from you when you reach to pick him up, but if you say, "Dylan stop!" a couple of times, he will turn with his back to you and sit down, which is the position he gets in to for you to pick him up. He does not have an aggressive bone in his body; he is just the mildest mannered little thing you've ever seen. He loves being held and cuddled, but he's still learning that he can trust people to do that.

Dylan used to belong to an elderly woman, but when she died, her family took him. They weren't "small dog people" and threw him outside to live with two big labs full time for the past 2-3 years. Consequently, any housetraining he ever had also went by the wayside. However, he wears a belly band inside and doesn't mind wearing it a bit while he continues to work on being housetrained again. He is great with other dogs and cats.

Dylan's adoption fee is $150. This is a courtesy listing for Pap911 Rescue and Adoption, Inc. If you are interested in adopting Dylan, please go to their web site at: http://www.pap911rescueadoption.org/ and fill out an application.

"Winnie"
Winnie: Lhasa Apso mix

This sweet little dog's family never came to get her after she got picked up as a stray. Maybe they didn't want to have to deal with her health care. Neither did most people who went to the shelter looking for a dog. She had multiple mammary tumors, and for a month, nobody wanted to give her a chance. She was almost out of time when we decided to adopt her and get her the care she needed.

Winnie is now healed from her surgery, getting perkier and prettier every day, and will be ready to go to a new home as soon as we can bear to part with her! Winnie is an older lady, and so needs a new owner who is home a lot so that she can get lots of TLC in her later years. We think she would be fine sharing a home with one other small dog.
