"Missy"
Missy came to our rescue as she was being offered for sale to Michigan area puppy mills because she has some show stock in her and that's just what the mills like to have as brood females.

Missy was born on Dec. 14, 2002, thus she is 3 years of age. She is a lovely golden red with a white chest, feet and a black mask, with white around her mouth, and very flat little face. Under 11 pounds in weight, with a loving personality. Not a mean bone in her little body. She is not leash trained, nor housebroken, as she will not use our doggie door, but she is paper trained.

Missy is up to date with all her shots, booster, parvo, rabies, is heartworm negative and on Interceptor monthly, she was spayed, microchipped and had her teeth cleaned on July, 27, 2006 -- so she should be ready for her "forever" home on Aug. 6. 2006. Missy loves to play, so I'm hoping she will find a home with another gentle Pekingese pal.

This little one lived in a cage for the first two years of her life, she is ready to be a couch potato like so many other little four-footers. If you feel you have the patience, the time, and the LOVE to turn this little one into a family member, please contact Missy's foster Mom, Audrey, in Mentor, OH -- Audrianne@Voyager.net -- for an Application to Adopt, Home Visit, Adoption Contract, Adoption Donation (her expenses), References Required. Missy would be picked up in Mentor, OH -- (east of Cleveland) -- I DO NOT SHIP OR TRANSPORT.

"Kasha"
Kasha is a five year old shihtzu female that just lost her home because her owner died. She is a golden liver shihtzu with gold eyes. She doesnt like strangers and is unsure of men. K

asha is fully housebroken and will warm to one or two people. She sits on my lap and loves to be held. Kasha has never lived with children. She does have some vision loss but not enough to stop her from getting around. I cant say what happened to her eyes, they look normal. I think her vision is just hazy.

If you can give this poor girl a forever home this time, email me for an application. Her adoption fee is a $250 donation to our rescue medicall fund and an approved application.

"Brown Eyes"
Brown Eyes is a four year old black and white shihtzu/maltese mix female released to our rescue by a commercial kennel for rehoming. She is shy and tries to avoid me, because she was never properly socialized as a puppy. She now has a fear of humans. I bathed her and groomed her and she was easy to handle. Not a biter. I would say she weighs about 7 lbs. She is a small size.

Brown eyes is pretty darn cute. Should make a great pet for someone. Contact bonnwright@aol.com for an application.

"Moody Blues"
Moody Blues is a four to five year old gold and white, shihtzu/maltese mix female. She was released to our rescue by a commercial kennel for rehoming. She is looking for a home as a house dog now. She is fearful because she was never properly socialized as a puppy. Now she has to be desensitized to humans. Moody weighs about seven lbs. She is a small size for a dog. We are housebreaking her to newspaper. Moody needs to be handled very slowly.

"Bad LeRoy Brown"
Email only for more info. Bad LeRoy Brown is a four month old yorkie baby that arrived here with a skin condition. Two of the pups are not badly affected and two are. We are treating them for demodex, although it could be a form of psoriasis. There was no definite diagnosis. They will need oral ivermec daily until things are resolved and could possibly need to be dosed intermittently through out their lives. Most puppies do outgrow the demodex condition but some may not.

Bad LeRoy is a small size yorkie and probably will not weigh over five pounds fully grown. He has two sisters and one brother. One sister will be small like him and the other two babies will be about 7 lbs. No Phone Calls please. Email for info only. They will not be released to their new homes until they are showing improvement with their treatment. LeRoy and one of his sisters can be reserved now, the other two pups will be here for awhile.

"Skip"
I am a 1 yr old male Pointer named Skip. I'm about 45 lbs and LOVE to play with other dogs. I'm good with older dogs too, I know who I can play with and have fun and who needs to be left alone. I am fine with cats and great with children, even young toddlers.

On 11/9/06 I was shot 4 times when I got caught eating some ducks and was left to die. Luckily for me a lady stopped when she saw me laying on the street. I was in shock when she found me and almost didn't make it. When the rescue people found my owner they didn't want to pay the vet bill and said to just put me to sleep!!! Can you believe that? After all I went through.

Luckily the rescue place kept me and now I need a forever home. I am a great dog. I use to go hunting, atv and camping trips, am good with horses, love to swim. I stay close when off leash. I understand 'load up' and will hop in or on anything (atvs, trucks, etc) and I 'stay' when asked. I come when called and know how to sit. I'm very smart and can learn anything.

I do not like to be penned so please keep me inside and in the backyard. I do not chew and have no bad habits! I am housebroken and cry when I need to go out. My wounds are healing great and I'm up and playing and ready to go to my new home.

Call Piute Paws Dog Rescue if I sound like a perfect dog for you. 435-577-2092. Skip is neutered and up to date w/shots & rabies. His adoption fee is $75.00.

"Daisy Mae"
10/18/04 Daisy came to us last week via a kill shelter in northern Illinois. Daisy had been surrendered by her owner for an unknown reason and was going to be put down because she would submissively urinate when someone stood in front of her while she was in the shelter. Fortunately for her, A LOT of people worked really hard and got little Daisy out of the shelter before her time was up.

Daisy is a 10 month old female BC with a partial tail. She looks as though it might have been caught in a door and cut off, but don't worry, it doesn't slow her down and it doesn't bother her. The best part of Daisy having a shortened tail is she doesn't sweep everything off the coffee table when she comes looking for you and has to wag her tail at you. Daisy is a happy young girl with a voice to match. She can bark and hit those high notes when she wants your attention.

Daisy is a very active young lady, but has no interest in balls or in herding. There is no natural instinct to herd either cattle or small children in her. She does require lots of mental and physical stimulation even though she doesn't exhibit any of the usual BC drive. Letting this little one get bored will result in bad behaviors on her part. Two walks or runs a day won't keep this little girl happy, she's going to need someone who will spend lots of quality time doing fun Border Collie stuff to keep her content.

Daisy likes to play with other dogs. Sorry, we don't have cats, so I can't tell you how she behaves with them. She does prefer smaller dogs to play with. Dogs that are larger than her tend to scare her and she turns into a drama queen and starts to scream. She does seem to have an interest in squirrels and indoor birds, so you'll need to be aware of that. Daisy does exhibit some signs of abuse and or neglect and does have a few small quirks that we are going to work on over the coming weeks, but basically Daisy is a fun loving little girl who needs a very active home where she can run and play and learn how to have fun and most of all be loved until she's spoiled rotten.

Daisy is spayed, UTD on all her shots and is heartworm and parasite free.

"Sparky"
9/27/04: Sparky had his first doctor visit this afternoon. He really enjoys meeting other furry friends, so he was pretty excited while we were waiting for his appointment. He did fabulous during his appointment and got a clean bill of health. He weighs 45 pounds - lean, but the doc said he's pretty good and could only stand to gain a few more pounds but not too much. It looks like he was up-to-date on all immunizations, with the exception of Distemper, which he received at the visit. He didn't even flinch.

I think he's coming around and maybe settling in a little. He ate a little from his bowl tonight, and he pooped while we were on our walk tonight - YEAH! As far as play, this guy doesn't have a clue what a Frisbee is. And tennis balls, yeah those are okay. He'll catch 'em or chase 'em, but returning them - no way. I have a small soccer ball that he likes (a lot). He'll bat at it with his paws (as if kicking) and catch it or nose it back to me if I throw it his way. I also had some quiet time today to work with him a little to see what he knows in the way of commands. He did really well with sit, stay, and come (as long as it was quiet).

9/26/04: Sparky appears to be very affectionate towards everyone. He loves to give kisses, and he sits putting one paw up to shake. Right now, he does both on the *sit* command. Sparky definitely needs some basic manners training for recall and to control some jumping, leash pulling, and (ahem…) sexual misbehavior. (The last one only became apparent tonight.) Shortly after we picked him up, I was wondering if he would be one of the *couch-potato* BC's, but this evening, he proved that theory wrong! Sparky is intensely fixated on any ball that comes into his vision. He chases if you throw or will catch it in the air (successfully with small balls, hit and miss with larger ones). He usually doesn't return the ball for another through. He just drops it and backs into the BC herding stance. He has some work to do, but he is very attentive and eager to learn.

"George"
George is a 2 year old Shepherd mix. He is a such a good boy that he was selected to represent the shelter at an adoption event! He loves getting brushed, is cooperative at bath time, and quiet in the car. He is excited to meet new dogs and people, politely sniffing them.

A friendly fellow, George wags his tail at everybody. Appears to be good with dog-savvy children. This coy guy likes to bury his head under your arm. Easy on leash. We think he is house broken. He is neutered and up to date on all his shots. If interested please call Sally Jennings at 410-576-0481 or download an application from our site and fax it or email to us.

"Scooter"
Scooter is a 3 year old, approximately 10 pound, neutered red male Pomeranian. He is just a little lovebug who enjoys laptime and being held in your arms.

Scooter is the perfect gentleman around the house as he is housetrained and goes to his crate on his own when he is tired. Scooter is happy and playful with other dogs but not so crazy about cats. He barks at his foster mom's kitty and occasionally will chase her (she is dog savvy so it's ok). Scooter is neutered and has had all his shots. He seems very healthy and energetic.

"Sarah"
Sarah is a 2 year old, spayed American Stafford Terrier mix, up to date on all her shots. Sarah is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. Outside she loves to play with other dogs and people. She is great with children, very gentle and submissive. She loves to eat chewies and will let you take them right out of her mouth. She seemed to try and let you know when she needed to go outside. She is excellent with all the family in the house, she is wiggly and friendly to everyone she meets. She does not chew on anything while in the house, and honestly is a model house dog. She also walks wonderfully on leash.

Sarah is about 50-60 lbs, and as I said before, she's spayed and had the full DHPPC, Rabies, & Bord. series. If you are interested please call Catalina at 410-675-2744 or download an application from our main page and email it or fax it to us.

"Baby girl"
This beautiful and loving Rottie mix female is 3 years old. She is house broken and walks well on leash. Baby girl leans against you for love and likes to come when called to lie down on your lap. She is learning how to sit on command. She is about 50 lbs. Not good with cats or very tiny dogs. She ended up at the Baltimore City Shelter and was adopted and returned because she was too interested in the house cat. So she has been tossed back and forth and now is looking for a final good home where she can stay and be loved forever. She is spayed and up to date on all her shots.

"Lance"
Howdy! My name is Lance and I am Tucker's brother! We both did the show thing and got our Championships. We are now looking for a family that will spoil us the way we should be spoiled! I am almost 2 years old. I am neutered, up to date on my shots, and microchipped. I will need help with my house training, but I am crate trained so I at least have the first step figured out! I do like to stay clean. I walk well on a leash so I would make a great companion for you on your daily walks, or I would just love to hang out on the couch with you too!

If you think that you would like me to come and live with you please contact Heidi at MOPLEEZ@aol.com. She can answer any questions you might have as well as get you the adoption application that you will need to fill out. These folks here want me to have a special loving home so you will need to provide personal and vet references as well as have a home visit before I can come and live with you. My adoption donation is $300.00, and personally I think I'm worth every penny. I will be fostered in MN. However, they will let me travel out of state so don't be afraid to ask about me. I would love to have a special person to love me. See you soon.....

NOTE: This Chin is not currently in one of our foster homes, but we anticipate him coming "on board" shortly. He will need to spend about 2 weeks in foster care before placement so that we can evaluate his personal likes and dislikes so that we can better match him to a suitable family.

All our adoption donations go towards our ever mounting vet bills. Thank you for your support. We are also, always looking for more foster homes. The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we can help. THANK YOU!

"Reggie"
Hi, I’m Reggie and the biggest, bravest, smartest peke you’ve ever met - well I think so and my foster mom kind of thinks so too. I’m 3 yrs old, about 14 pounds and looking for a family to love. I’m not too sure of little kids because they’ve been mean to me in the past. But older kids are great fun, and toys, and tummy tickles!

My hair is all shaved off right now, but when it grows in it will be long and full. I think they just took the quick way of getting rid of a lots of tangles without hurting me. It’s a little chilly right now but hair always grows.

If you think that you would like me to come and live with you please contact Regi at birdhaven@wiktel.com She can answer any questions you might have as well as get you the adoption application that you will need to fill out. "Jasmine"

Hi, My name is Jasmine and I’m a sweet, shy, gentle little girl. They say I’m between 2 and 4 but have already had lots of pups. Now it’s time for treats, and toys and lots of cuddles and laying in the sun. It all sounds like fun but I have to try it out one step at a time. They want me to keep the house clean and I’m good at that - they call it housetraining but I just think it’s being neat and tidy, and that’s the way I am.

My foster mom says she’s getting me ready for a family and home that’s special just for me, and any other little dog or kittie playmates. I like everybody. As soon as I am spayed I'll be ready for my new home- there's a chance I'm pregnant one last time so I have to wait a few weeks.

"Charlie Brown"
Uh, hello there. I’m Charlie Brown, aren’t the big eyes a give away? I’m shy like Chrlie Brown, too because I lived in a puppymill. I ‘m not too sure about people We’re not sure how long I was caged with buddies. Papers say I’m about 2 but my eyes are real scarred and so it seems I’m older. Surgery might help but only if I got drops every day afterward.

I get along great now and love to run outside and play with the other puppies here. People still scare me. I’ll come for a treat but run if someone tries to grab me. I will accept a leash with a bit of encouragement and I wouldn’t dream of hurting anyone - I just am not sure about petting. So my foster mom, wanted to introduce me but let everyone know I’m not quite ready for adoption yet - unless you’re a special person who would like to spend a lot of time with me. If you do, contact Regi at birdhaven@wiktel.com for more information. She can answer any questions you might have as well as get you the adoption application that you will need to fill out.

"Daiji"

HI! My name is Daiji. My name means PRECIOUS in Japanese. My new foster family named me that since they think I am just Precious and no one ever really thought of me that way before so I feel pretty special right now. You see, I was only used for making puppies in a puppy mill. Now, I have a soft bed to sleep on and all the clean water and food a girl could ever want! I even get TREATS! I like to go on walks and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE to sleep in bed with you at night.

I admit that I may be a little shy at first but once I realize you love me and think I am PRECIOUS too, I will be your best friend. I also think kids are a little scary because they are usually pretty loud and move fast. But, if you are patient I bet I could get used to these little people. I am 6 years old so I have plenty of life to live yet! I have been spayed, brought up to date on my shots and also microchipped. Heck, I even got my teeth cleaned so I have a bright pretty smile for you!

My foster Mom is working with me on house training. You see, I never had to think about that before, but she says I am getting the hang of it. I get along fine with other dogs and although I haven't met a cat yet, I bet we could be friends. Do you think you have a nice warm place for me to lay down and the time to help me with my house training skills? If so please contact Heidi at mopleez@aol.com. She can get you the application you need to fill out as well as answer any other questions you may have. She also wants you to know that you will need to submit personal references, a vet reference and also have a home check. My adoption donation is $200. Pictures coming soon.
