"Pearl"
Hi there! My name is Pearl and I am about 1.5 years old. I am a special little girl who is already spayed, up to date on my shots, heartworm negative and also microchipped. I weigh about 6-7 pounds. I am looking for a home where I will be treated like the little Princess I was always meant to be. I haven't had the chance to have a family of my own yet and dream of this every day.
I am working on my house training and am doing pretty well. I am crate trained so I do understand needing to stay clean. I just need someone to help me to understand keeping the WHOLE house clean like my kennel.
I walk well on a leash, like to play with toys and get along just fine with other dogs. I have heard about cats, haven't met one yet, but think they might make neat friends.
If you think that you would like me to come and live with you please contact Heidi at MOPLEEZ@aol.com. She can answer any questions you might have as well as get you the adoption application that you will need to fill out. These folks here want me to have a special loving home so you will need to provide personal and vet references as well as have a home visit before I can come and live with you. My adoption donation is $300, and personally I think I'm worth every penny. I am currently living just west of Minneapolis, MN. However, they will let me travel out of state so don't be afraid to ask about me. I would love to have a special person to love me. See you soon.....
NOTE: All our adoption donations go towards our ever mounting vet bills. Thank you for your support. We are also, always looking for more foster homes. The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we can help. THANK YOU!

"Hanii"
|
Meet shy little Hanii (Japanese for Honey, which she most definitely is!). This little girl was born on 3-21-05 and will soon be celebrating her 7 month birthday at a whopping 6.5 pounds!
Hanii is slowly coming out of her shell and is finding that being held and cuddled really is ok. She loves to run and play in the yard with her brother Teegi and the other kids at her foster home and is learning the fine art of housetraining. She is also learning that squeaky toys are really fun to play with!
Hanii is currently in foster care in Sioux Falls, SD with 4 shih tzus, 2 Japanese Chins, a papillon and a peke – along with her brother so she is becoming very well-socialized.

"Teegi"
Meet Teegi – a little tiger in Japanese Chin clothing! This little boy is pure energy and playfulness all in a well-rounded package at only 6.25 pounds.
Teegi was born on 3-21-05 so will soon be celebrating his 7 month birthday! He is just now learning what a home is, what potty-training means, what toys are, and all the wonders of the big world outside of a kennel. He loves to be held and cuddled and won’t let you out of his sight for long. He also loves to play and run and chase the other dogs and is especially close to his sister Hanii, although his foster sister Meiko is a lot of fun too because she can run really fast!
Teegi is currently in foster care in Sioux Falls, SD with 4 shih tzus, 2 Japanese Chins, a papillon and a peke – along with his sister so he is becoming very well-socialized.

"Jethro Tull and Herbie Hancock"
Jethro Tull and Herbie Hancock are two standard poodle puppies, both males and only three months old. They are plenty big already, believe me. Standard poodles have wonderful personalities and are not barky the way small poodles can sometimes be.
Jethro is a white/cream standard poodle and Herbie is all black. They are just babies in spite of their size and will need training. They will be very large dogs and better to train them while they are young. They should make wonderful pets. They are available with an approved application and a $450 donation to our rescue medical fund. They do not have to go together.
Contact bonnwright@aol.com for more info. The dogs are in foster homes and we are not open to the public, we arrange for visits after we have recieved and approved your application. Thank you.

"Shirelle"
|
Shirelle is a six year old lhasa female just released to our rescue. She is a puppymill survivor. She is a bit shy of people, but with time will get use to living in a house with humans. She is not a biter and should learn fast. She weighs about ten lbs and appears in good health.
Shirelle never moved when we groomed her. She is very easy to handle. With the proper care and treatment and a loving home, this sweet girl can turn out happy and trusting. I hope someone will take her in and turn her life around.
If you can give Shirelle a forever home, let us know. She has been abused and she is afraid. She deserves to live the rest of her life in comfort and without fear. She is not the least bit aggressive. She will be spayed and up to date on shots and have a dental before going to her new home. She can be adopted with an approved application and an adoption fee of $250 to our medical fund.

"Stanley Ridgeway"
|
Stanley is a senior chihuahua boy, dumped in the parking lot at a flea market. I guess his family didn't want him anymore. I can't figure out why, he is not an ounce of trouble. He is housebroken and not a biter. He loves to snooze on your lap and watch TV.
Stanley is only four to five lbs. Just a little bitty guy. This has been very hard on him. Imagine his confusion when he couldn't find his owners. I am sure he could not figure out what happened and just as well. Sure wouldn't want him to realize that the people he trusted and loved, threw him away like an old shoe.
Stanley needs a place to live out his years. Don't want this happening to him again. We are looking for a very special home for this very special little dog who doesn't deserve to be homeless at this time in his life. I would estimate Stanleys age at approximately eight to ten years. Chihuahuas can live to fifteen or more. Stanley is in good health and will be vetted before he leaves our rescue. He has a lot of love to give and will make a wonderful companion for someone. Contact bonnwright@aol.com for more info on Stanley.

"Maggie May"
|
Maggie May is a little three year old peke gal that just made her way out of a commercial kennel. Instead of celebrating, we are going to need your prayers. You see, the day after she came to us, she injured her spine and is now paralyzed. We are hoping to raise the $250 we will need to get Maggie May a cart so she will be able to get around. She can fly like the devil if you put her down on the floor now but she will only scrape up her legs if she drags them behind her. Her front legs are not affected. Maggie is on steriods and being crated right now. We are hoping for some slight improvement. We should know within a week if she will gain any use back in her legs. Maggie will also need to be spayed and have a dental before going to her new home.
Maggie doesn't realize what has happened to her. She will just try to get around the best she can. Dogs don't know that they are handicapped and they don't feel sorry for themselves. It only affects them physically. I know I will be able to find someone to adopt Maggie. Once they meet her, they will want to take her home. She has a very sweet disposition and it is hard to believe she lived her life in a cage so far.
Maggie is crate and papertrained. She is a tiny little peke gal, she only weighs 8 lbs. She is a beautiful solid cream color. Can you help Maggie May? You can paypal your donation to LimberlostDogs@aol.com I will post updates as I can. Thank you.
Update 7/1/05: There is no change, Maggie still cannot use her back legs. Maggie is still a very happy dog and carries toys in her mouth. Maggie is papertrained
7/8/05: Maggie has a slight change in movement in her back legs. She can now stand on her legs and pivot to go a different direction. We are happy for any slight improvement.
Update 7/11/05: We are very excited at Limberlost. There is a change in Maggie, I saw her scratch her ear. Yesterday she stood and took three steps before flopping. Then she got up and did it again. I feel like I am seeing a miracle happen. Someone out there has been praying for this little gal and it must have been a special prayer. At this time I dont know if she will be normal again or not but she is getting around pretty good. It has been two weeks since she turned up paralyzed. The last three days have brought about a major improvement. Keep those prayers coming.
Update 7/19/05: Maggie is standing, check the new pic of her, she is walking, she only wobbles a little bit. I now expect her to make a full recoverey. She is one lucky little gal. I can hardly believe it. She is pretty happy about it also, look at that beautiful smile. She is still on crate rest for the most part another couple weeks to make sure the injury fully heals. We couldnt have asked for more than to have her recover and go back to normal.
Update 7/29/05: Maggie is doing very well. She is almost back to normal. She can run and stand and get around well. She does wobble a bit at times and may never be able to do more than two or three stairs. It would be good if a person could build a small ramp for her to go outside if they have more steps than that. She continues to do well with the potty training and is papertrained and will go outside. She is a wonderful happy little dog, very friendly and playful. She only weighs eight pounds. She does like to keep her food dish and toys for her self so an only dog home might be best or one where the dogs will all be well supervised. Maggies adoption fee is a $250 donation to our medical fund and an approved application. Maggie is our little miracle dog.
