"Tazz-Too"
Tazz-Too is a 6 year old, Pekingese male, black with white markings. He was born on 10-02-97 and weighs 15 lbs. His foster mom says he's a very good Peke, minds extremely well, loves to cuddle and give kisses, loves to ride in the car. He gets along with her female Peke, loves to play ball and chew on other toys, especially the squeeky ones. He is housebroken, but has occasional accidents, said prior owner. Owner-surrendered as he was becoming jealous of their 17 month old child -- so we prefer to place him in an adult home or with older children.

Tazz-Too is completely vetted, all shots, booster, parvo, rabies, heartworm negative and on preventative and was neutered on October 17th. He is now ready for his forever home.

For more information on Tazz-Too, please contact his foster Mom, Cheryl in Fort Knox, KY at cherylv@bbtel.com -- Application to Adopt, Home Visit, Adoption Contract, Adoption Donation, References Required.

"Dolly"
Dolly was purchased from a local pet shop, as a Toy Fox Terrier for a Christmas present for someone who didn't want a dog in the first place. After several months, her owner took her to the local pound.

Dolly was then adopted from the shelter, as a Jack Russell Terrier. Dolly does not have the ear set for a TFT or Rat Terrier - and she has short legs and a long body - we feel it could be Standard Dachshund. Dolly has the typical Terrier-Doxie personality -- she is very protective of her family. Dolly is not good with people visiting the family or with children running in and out all day - so the family decided she was not the dog for them, even though, Dolly slept with their 8 year old daughter.

Dolly is just over a year old, born on 09-28-02. She is black with white chest, belly and feet with tan markings and weighs 19 lbs, a bit overweight but we are working on this. All shots are up to date, booster, parvo, rabies, heartworm negative and on preventative, and she is spayed. Completely housebroken, not lead trained - she will pull when walked. Dolly is NOT good with other dogs or YOUNG children. I think she would like an older couple, without small grandchildren or other dogs. She's an easy dog to maintain, no grooming other than nails, and is a nice size for seniors. She has a very pretty face.

If you would like to give this sweet little girl a forever home, please contact her foster Mom, Audrey in Mentor, Ohio (east of Cleveland) at Audrianne@Voyager.net for an Application to Adopt. Home-visit, Adoption Contract, Adoption Donation, References Required.

"Gordie"
Gordie is another of my puppymill rescues. He has been used for breeding and now is no longer wanted -- as were the others. For us, in rescue, this is great news. Even though he is a bit on the shy side until he knows you, we find him to have a very, very loving and sweet personality.

Gordie is a blue fawn smooth coat, 10 pounds in weight, much larger than the breed standard requires, but very typical of dogs from back-yard breeders or puppymills. They don't breed to standard -- they don't care about genetics -- they only care about the MONEY they will get for the puppies. Period. It's a money issue for them. When the money stops coming in, the dogs GO. Many are traded to other millers while so many of them are put in a 55 gal drum full of water. Dog goes in, lid goes on. Then it's emptied in the morning. Dead little bodies fall out.

We at rescue take in these unwanted, unloved babies. Trust me, they make wonderful, wonderful pets. Most have never known love and they respond in so many loving ways. Just give a rescue a chance. You will have true love the rest of your life.

Gordie goes in on 10/29/02 for all his vet work. All shots, heartworm check, teeth cleaned if needed, and neutered. He will be available 10 days later.

Application to Adopt, Adoption Contract, Home-Visit, Adoption Donation, References Required. For more information please contact Gordie's foster Mom, Audrey in Mentor, Ohio (near Cleveland) Audrianne@Voyager.net

"Toe-Toe"

Toe-Toe was purchased for showing, however, his new owner died shortly after buying him and five other show dogs. These were purchased to keep them from being sold to a puppy mill. Toe-Toe's sire is a Champion and his dam only needed two more points for her championship title.

Toe-Toe was born on December 02, 1999 thus he will be five years old his next birthday. He weighs 15 pounds and is a lovely apricot red with a black mask. He carries a HUGE coat, he will need regular grooming with a groomer to keep his coat under control. He has a wonderful personality, loves people and would like to live in a home with a female Pekingese.

Toe-Toe has been completely vetted, all shots, heart-worm negative and on Interceptor, teeth were cleaned and he was neutered. All he needs now is a loving home and someone to fuss over him.

I do not ship or transport, Toe-Toe must be picked up at his foster home.

If your female Pekingese would like a quiet companion, please e-mail Audrey at Audrianne@Voyager.net for an Application to Adopt. Adoption contract, home-visit, adoption donation and references required.

"Peaches"
Peaches is a darling 7 pound, apricot red female Pekingese, 7 years of age, born on 09-11-96. She was born with a deformed right eye, which causes her no problems, however, she is blind in that eye. Released to rescue by her owner who was moving and could not take her with the family.

On 01-30-04 -- Peaches had all her shots, booster and 3 year rabies, was heart-wormed checked negative and is on preventative (Interceptor), had her teeth cleaned and was spayed. She was treated for ear mites and we are working on putting a little more weight on her and clearing up skin problems due to flea bites. Peaches is now ready for her "forever" home and a lap to lay in. She is NOT housebroken.

For more information, please contact Peaches foster Mom, Audrey in Mentor, Ohio (east of Cleveland) Audrianne@Voyager.net for an application to adopt, home visit, references, and adoption donation. Adoption contract required.

"Scooter"
Scooter is an owner release to their local APL because Scooter does not like to go outdoors to potty in cold or rainy weather and having one and two year old daughters, Scooter was more work than she had time for.

Scooter is tri colored, black & tan with white markings, with a very short docked tail, 5 pounds in weight and 2 years of age. He is on the thin side - very sweet and loving. He will snap at small children, therefore we prefer a home without young children or grandchildren.

On 01-26-04 Scooter had his Distemper Booster. He still needs to have his rabies vaccination, heart-worm check and neutered. He also needs to have his skin checked. He will NOT be placed until this is done. He is on the thin side and we hope to put more weight on him.

After April, please apply for an Application to Adopt -- e-mail to Audrianne@Voyager.net. Home Visit, References, Adoption Donation, Adoption Contract required.

"Teddy"

Teddy is a darling little 9 pound boy the Vet feels is under two years of age. He's fawn with a black mask. He was so badly matted that we had to clip him back so he now looks like a little pug baby. He was found wandering and picked up as a stray. Most Pekingese are not "street wise" dogs, and it is not uncommon for males that are NOT neutered to wander away from home and have no idea how to get back -- what I don't understand is why the owners don't look for them.

On 11-27-02 Teddy was fully vetted. All shots, booster, parvo, rabies, heartworm test negative and is on preventative, his teeth were cleaned and he was neutered. He is in great health with the exception he has dry eye in one eye and will need cyclosporin drops daily so he won't go blind in that one eye.

Teddy is great with our other two male Pekingese and our two small children. However, we prefer to place Teddy in an adult home that has owned Pekingese in the past. Teddy is a gentle, loving boy and deserves a gentle, loving home.

Adoption Contract, Home-Visit, Adoption Donation, References required. Please contact Teddy's foster mom, Audrey in Mentor, Ohio (near Cleveland) at Audrianne@Voyager.net for more information or for an application to adopt.

"Taz"

Taz, is 1-2 year old, 12-1/2 lb, black female Pekingese who needs a VERY SPECIAL loving, quiet, understanding home, with NO large dogs, NO alpha dogs, NO children. This is a young girl who has been through more than any little dog should have to go through. Because she was found as a stray, we have no knowledge of how her left hip was broken and repaired with a metal plate and two pins, she could have been hit by a car, or even abused, thrown down stairs or kicked -- The Veterinarian who repaired her hip could have told the owners she needed further surgery of over $1,000.00 to repair her knee later on -- and the owners could have dumped her -- we do know, the person who found her tried desperately to locate her owners. After several months of no luck in finding them, they decided to keep her. Taz was very nervous among their 5 large dogs, was very protective of her food and crate, would not hesitate to snap, so they decided to find another home for her.

08-24-02 -- $312.74 -- Taz, taken to their Veterinarian for new pet exam - all shots, heartworm test and put on preventative, Sentinel, x-rays as to why she was limping, Capstar (worming) and put on Frontline plus.

08-31-02 -- $ 45.49 -- Not eating, was given fluid therapy.

09-20-02 -- $188.34 -- Re-evaluation exam - 2 more x-rays- rabies - rimadyl

10-03-02 -- $ 70.00 -- Pet exam with Specialist - because of her limping.

11-05-02 -- $850.51 -- Patella repair with Specialist. Released to Rescue.

11-22-02 -- $120.50 -- Spay, umbilical hernia repair, teeth cleaned.

$1,587.58 -- Total

Taz is as well as possible. Now all she needs is time to heal. She's had 3 major surgeries (hip, knee, spay) in a very short period of time. Taz is still very protective of her food and crate, she is paper trained and she will go to the door and scratch to go out. She is VERY smart, quick, and CRAVES attention. If she does not want to be bothered, she WILL snap.

Taz is Alpha Peke over foster Mom's two Pekingese. A home that is used to alpha Pekes is desirable. ARE YOU that special home????

Please contact Tazzie's foster Mom, Liz in Bowling Green, Ohio for an Application to Adopt -- dogresq@wcnet.org -- Adoption Contract, Home Visit, Adoption Donation, References required.
