"Mutley"

I found a young male (about 2 years per my vet) that I believe is possibly a large part bearded collie. I have had him neutered and up-dated on all immunizations and heartworm prevention.

Mutley is not yet housebroken. I am not sure if he ever was. He walked up to my husband and I at our lake property in southern Michigan. He was very emaciated and full of ticks. We fed him some hamburger and I went to the store and got some dog food. He gained five pounds in the first couple of weeks that we had him. He now weighs about 35 pounds. He is very intelligent and seems to want to please. He minds quite well and I believe would be quite easily housebroken. He would be a wonderful dog for someone who can devote some time and attention to him.

Personality-wise, Mutley can be quite frisky, but he also loves to just be talked to and petted or brushed. He loves to run and play. He is rather competitive with other dogs, as far as wanting attention (from me) or his food. (I feed him separately from my other two dogs.) I think a lot of this is from being abandoned. He is easily redirected, though. I have been working with him each day and trying to help him with his socialization skills. He really hasn't been around very small children at all. He has been around barn cats and, basically, just loved to chase them. I rarely hear him bark--only at something that threatens him.

"Rosie"

Rosie is approx. 1 1/2 years old, spayed and up to date on all her vaccs. She is healthy, and in foster care (learning that LIFE doesn't have to continue to exist within an animal shelter's loud environment).

Rosie is patiently awaiting that 'special someone' who is capable of seeing her uniqueness and claim her as their very own best friend and companion in life. With the right amount of love and gentle caresses, she truly blossoms. In return, her love goes beyond conditions. It would be a loyal love and one you will never want to forget. Her needs require a quiet environment with a laidback couple or single person. She gets along well with other small dogs, of either sex.

Come and meet Rosie, today, won't you?

"Cassie"

My name is Cassie and I am 9 years old. I have some special needs because I am blind or almost so. My vision or lack of it, doesn't stop me from smiling, wagging my tail, and giving you kisses. I was confused when I first came to my foster mom's house because I lived in a cage and didn't really know how to move around a room. I have caught on pretty well, now. I know to walk slowly so that I don't collide with objects in the room, and my blindness will never keep me from being a loving companion for you. I am sweet and calm.

I am current on my shots, am heartworm negative, and my foster mom has started me on Heartguard Plus. I will be spayed and have my dental work done on November 21. My sister, Jen, is very good to me. She is also looking for a forever home.

"Jen"

My name is Jen and I am a 7 year old girl. I am friendly and sweet, but I don't like to push myself into the limelight. I would rather stand back a little bit and wag my tail until you notice me and give me some attention. If you put me on your lap, I will lay back and soak in all the love you can give me. I am willing to share attention and don't mind waiting my turn.

My shots are current, I am heartworm negative and my foster mom has started me on Heartguard Plus. I will have my teeth cleaned and be spayed on November 21. My foster mom says I will never have to live in a cage again and keep having babies. She says it is time for me to be someone's special baby myself.

"Penny"
Hi! My name is Penny and I am a very pretty 8 year old girl. My doctor and my mom both think I look and act much younger. I love people and smile and wag my tail a lot. My foster mom has already taught me to sit for a treat and I am coming along pretty well with my housetraining.

Until very recently, I spent my whole life in a cage and I had lots of babies. I am heartworm negative and have been started on Heartguard Plus. My shots are current and my doctor says that I am healthy. I am going to be spayed and have my teeth cleaned on November 21. Then I will be ready for my forever home. I am curious, active, and affectionate and I defintiely want to be someone's special girl. I would really like a home where I could be an only child because my sisters think I am a little bossy.

"Molly Love"
Hello! My name is “Molly Love”. I am a beautiful black adult Labrador Retriever Mix, spayed and current with all my vaccines. My foster parents welcomed me into their home when no one else had room. And although I appreciate my back yard, it is quite small and doesn’t allow me much room to play with children…and ohhh, I love to play with kids of all ages! I dream about having a teen-ager or two to love me. You know, the kind who will include me in all their backyard fun games and take me walking every day!

I am the perfect picture of health with that outstanding lab faithfulness quality. Did I mention I am housebroken? Yep, I sure am! And there is nothing that I would like better than to have my bed next to yours at the end of the day. I promise to give you every reason to love me and be your faithful companion for ever.

If you would like to know more about me, please contact my friend, Patricia Watkins. Her email is: watkins-watkins@mindspring.com or you may phone her direct at 864-878-1357 in South Carolina. I hope to hear from you soon!

"Lilly"

Someone has been very mean to this gentle soul. Lilly is one of the sweetest and mellowest Redbone Coonhound's I have ever met. She will need an understanding guardian who will take the time to help mend her heart.

Ms. Lilly is HOUSEBROKEN! She is healthy, yet afraid of loud noises and people, at first. She really loves her blankie, so please, be sure to allow her that security. She warms up quickly, with some calm conversation and a loving, gentle environment, however. It is MY belief that she would make THE BEST companion any person with a caring, loving heart could EVER ask for. This gal is awesome! She's beautiful, and has the potential to be a spirited creature, once again.

Won't you take Lilly into YOUR heart and give her the kind of life she richly deserves? Come by the shelter and meet this gorgeous gal. Spend a little time with her and get to know the REAL Lilly. See if she doesn't win your heart over. How could the sweetness radiating from that face NOT do just that?! You just want to lean your head back and let out a HUGE howl, to welcome her into your pack, doesn't it!?

"Theo"

It is my belief that Theo is a mix between a Billy Hound or Beagle, and an Italian Pointer. He is 3 months old and a little shy, right now. He walks very well on-leash, and has a good disposition. However, he is slightly male-dog agressive, but with a little obedience training, he will get over this quickly. He barks timidly at the cats, but I feel that he just hasn't ever seen them before; and besides, they ARE a strange creature, in a dog's mind, anyways...right?!

Theo is a sweet boy, just waiting for the right person to come along who will see his potential. With a little training, and loving touches, Theo would make an EXCELLENT companion animal for any gentle person. Come by and visit with Theo and see if he doesn't just take your heart and steal it away. Theo will be neutered at the time of adoption.

"Tova"
THIS girl just wants to have fun! Tova is a delight to behold. She's between 1 and 2 years old, and she's a COMPANION animal, and NOT a hunter! She does follow her nose, which probably got her out into the world, and here. But, we have a feeling that she escaped the confines of a 'supposed hunter' and found her FREEDOM to be more to HER liking. Now, it is up to us to help her find that special place with that special someone, who will appreciate her for being TOVA. She is a beautiful little girl, with a lot of spunk. Playful and curious, like most beagles, but much more personable and has a richer character than your typical beagle. THIS girl is a GEM! Come and visit with Tova, today, and allow her sweetness to overwhelm you.

We feel that she would make a GREAT companion to any family with the time to be HER friend. Is that YOU? WE HOPE SO!
