"Dash"

|
Dash is a one year old Australian Shepherd/Sheltie mix about 20 lbs. He is a reserved boy, housebroken, neutered and up on his shots. As you can see, he is a strikingly handsome fellow with exotic eyes, beautiful leg markings and no tail. His hair is longish but course and he does not shed a great deal.
He is playful and good-natured after he gets to know you. I am currently socializing him because he evidently did not get this as a young puppy. He loves to play with other dogs and I think he would be fine with cats. He was originally a stray who a woman adopted and cared for, but she recently needed to move and could not take him, and he has been in foster care with me.
Like many Aussies, he seems to attach to one person or family. He would do best in a home that is quiet with adults and no small children. My hunch is he would make a good watch dog. He seems smart and would do well in agility because of his ability to jump. He walks well on a leash and is learning to sit and lie down. Being a young dog, he will chew sometimes if not supervised but he is content being crated. He likes flavored rawhide chews, playing tug with a rope toy and being brushed. He will dig if left unattended so gardeners need to beware.
I want him to attend obedience training as a condition of new ownership and be able to enjoy a fenced in back yard. This is because he is a good dog and deserves to be a cherished member of someone’s family. I am asking for donation to cover some of the costs of being a foster home for him. Want more information? "Pumpkin"
Pumpkin is a chow mix about a year old that I don’t expect to get over 30 lbs. She is a very happy girl who rarely barks or jumps and does not get on furniture. She is housebroken and I have had no trouble with her chewing things so have not crated her when left alone. She may put your hand in her mouth but never bites hard. She LOVES peanut butter, peanut flavored rawhide chews and playing tug with a rope toy. She likes other dogs and would enjoy visits to a puppy park or another dog in the home to play with. She also does well with cats and likes to be brushed. Pumpkin has a sweet and gentle spirit and follows me everywhere around the house.
Her only areas of needed improvement are that she needs to learn not to scratch so much on the door or screen when she wants in or out. She is learning to walk on a leash without pulling and does sit and come on command. She can slip out the door very quickly so always have her leash on or hold her when anyone comes or goes. I recommend a tattoo for her so you can get her back if she ever gets loose.
I pulled Pumpkin out of the Henrico shelter when her number was up the 6th
of June and I feel she understands she was given a second chance at life. She
was picked up as a stray and had no medical or other history. She was very sick,
depressed and would cower when I reached to pet her (had obviously been hit).
Since recovering from kennel cough, an upper respiratory infection, worms and
dehydration, she has gotten increasingly active and playful. She was treated for
these conditions at Broad Street Veterinary Clinic by Dr. Neal Rose. She was tested
for heart worm and got a Heartguard pill, an application of Frontline, a distemper
and rabies shot and received several shots for the infections. She was spayed
the third week in June. She has been use to eating Eukanuba puppy chow to build
up her strength, increase her weight and get her coat shiny and soft. She is now
soft as a bunny and has waves in her shiny hair.
I want her to attend obedience training as a condition of new ownership and
be able to enjoy a fenced in back yard. This is because she is a special dog and
deserves to be a cherished member of someone’s family. I am asking for $100 donation
for her to cover most of the vet bills. Want more information? Contact: Mary Zoller

"Ralphie & Dottie"
These three mix breed pups were brought in by my daughter and apparently were the runts of a litter. They are half the size or less from the other pups and the people didn't want to deal with them. They are about 5wks old from what we see and the vet thinks. They are wormed and two are just wonderful eaters. The third, a male that looks alot like a rottie is the smallest and needs some more vet care for a umbilical cord problem and an eye problem (not serious) maybe just a scratch or cold in his eye, I'll learn more monday. (no picture of rottie look alike) They will be spayed/neutered before adoption.
These three are about 2lbs at 5wks old and I'm not sure that they will be very big dogs. The other pups were good sized for their age. I've had chihuahua pups here that were full blooded and the same size at this age as these little ones
Dottie is mostly white, her ears have dark black spots..tiny spots of blk throughout her body. Ralphie is solid black. He is a sweetheart. Dottie is barely barking but seems to think she can protect...
