"Big Red"



Big Red is an Australian Shepherd/Collie cross. He is already neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations and we are guessing he is about 3-4 years old. He is very good with other dogs and kids. My 8 year old daughter taught him to sit and lay down in 10 minutes. He is a rather "serious" dog and needs a job to do. He has been at the Amarillo, Texas Human Society since May and hasn't been euthanized because the director knows he is a great dog and would make a ideal pet. He does not like cats!

"Cubby"


Cubby is a 1.5 yr old Australian Shepherd x Australian Cattle Dog mix. His nature is to be adoring, always at your side, friendly to all who meet him. He desires to live with dogs who won't bully him.. he's just not up to the challenge and wants to be accepted as the dog who fits in.

Good with small dogs, cats, kids, anybody willing to say hello. He has watched some dogs be adopted and caught on to what's going on.. He does want his own family. Who's ready for a love bug? Oh yes.. in the picture he's just gotten into rescue and fat as can be... he's a trim, fit dude now... Adorable expression always on his face.

"Rudy"

Rudy is a 1-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix who weighs 50 lbs. Rudy has been with us (his foster family) for about 3 weeks. He has been neutered. He adapted quickly to our household and our routines, and he loves to go on walks in the neighborhood. When we encounter other dogs he remains well behaved. He is non-aggressive, likes other dogs and people, and is house-broken (well, almost completely). He gets along great with our female Staffordshire Terrier. He has attended one formal training session and received passing grades. He is smart, learns quickly and will heel, sit, come most of the time, and stay. He responds to "no" when you want him to stop what he's doing. He is a little shy and can be skittish. We can put our hands in his food dish with impunity while he is eating and we have yet to hear him growl on any occasion.

Rudy looks forward to finding a family of his own!

"Canni"


Canni is a darling black and white border collie mix. She is great with kids, other dogs and cats. She is housetrained with supervision. She is smart and willing to please. Would make a wonderful family dog.

"Duke"


Duke is a purebred Jack Russell Terrier, 4 years old, 11" at the shoulder & apx. 12#. He's great with kids of all ages & other dogs, but will chase cats & other small animals. He is active & athletic...loves to play soccer & ride on the 4-wheeler. Adopter must be familiar with the energy level & traits of the breed & be willing to house & crate train so that Duke can finally be an indoor dog.

"Angel"


This beautiful girl is Angel, a Yellow Labrador Retriever. Angel is approx 18 months old, 22" at the shoulder and 55 pounds. She is a sweetheart!! Angel doesn't jump up, knows "sit", and "come". She has a an affectionate personality and would make a wonderful family companion.

"Chester"


Chester is a wonderful Golden Retriever about 23" at the shoulder, about 55#, and around 3 years old. What a NICE dog!! Very friendly, smart and responsive. He just wants to be your friend forever!! He's coming along nicely with leash training. He's being fostered outside, so were not sure yet about house training, but he's so smart, that he'll learn quickly, and he really wants to please.

"Lady Red"


Lady Red was found in the mountains last fall, lost, emaciated and injured. A kind soul took her home, has nursed her back to health...and what a fabulous job he's done. She is a beautiful Irish Setter (possibly purebred?), about 2 years old, apx. 21" at the shoulder and 45#. She has a very sweet, eager-to-please nature and is very smart. She's great with kids and other dogs, but likes to chase cats for fun. She's a wonderful dog, but has a high energy level, typical of the breed. She is not yet housetrained, but would love to live indoors with the family.

"Salty"
Salty (Pepper's brother) is a 4-year-old Cockapoo, about 12" at shoulder and 20#. He has the sweetest, most loving temperament, and is very eager to please. When he gets his "doggie makeover" he will be much more handsome!! He was very well loved and protected, but has been an outside dog his whole life. He will be placed only as an indoor dog, and his adopter must have the knowledge and patience to crate and house train him so he can be part of the family. He's fine with other dogs, OK with cats, and good with kids. He's currently working on leash training.
