"Pippa"
Pippa is from the local animal shelter. An exceptional puppy! Lab cross, some signs of Bull Mastiff too. She is 4-5 months of age, and at this time she weighs 45 lbs. Her coat is short, very soft and smooth and a beautiful rich red with adorable black markings. A very handsome young lady who holds herself very well. She has a wonderful personality, smart, funny, happy, learns quickly and is very responsive to people. She is holding her own in a houseful of older dogs, and knows all the "doggy rules", and which old grouch to keep out of the way of!!!

We have begun Clicker Training with Pippa, and she is taking to it like a duck to water. Potty training and crate training are completed. She needs one more round of vaccinations, and to be spayed, then she's ready to go. She doesn't appear to have any "issues". We would prefer her to go to a family where someone is home more than away, and perhaps has another dog for her to play with. Or, where her new owners will include her in all their outings. She is going to be quite big, so a large fenced yard is a must! And plenty of off leash running!

09-12-03: We took all of the dogs to the lake today (8 of them), and Pippa was like a little otter paddling around, and having a ball. We just adore her, she is just too cute, and has this funny way of wrinkling her little nose up as she comes bounding towards you.

09-13-03, Pippa has been in foster care for 2 1/2 weeks.

"Goldie"
Goldie is a small, 52 lb., 9 year old, Golden, probably Cocker Spaniel Cross. She looks like a Golden with short legs. She was rescued from a shelter where she had been waiting for her owner to get her. She is microchipped, so we were able to learn her date of birth, and original name. She is spayed.

Goldie has been given a "summer cut", because her fur was so badly matted. Her coat is long and thick like a Golden Retrievers, so will need regular grooming. At her vet check today we had initial bloodwork done. Futher treatment will depend on the bloodwork, but will definitely include dental work.

Goldie is a little bit roly poly, so we have her on a diet, and supplements. It would be good for her to loose about 7-8 pounds.

Socially she is doing very well! She is so playful, loves playing with toys, people and other dogs. She is a joy to watch prancing around, loves to go for walks too, and rushes out with great gusto, but gets a bit stiff if she goes too far or too fast! We have to watch her because she tries to keep up with the 2 year olds. She's a quiet old lady, likes to be petted and follow you around, but isn't demanding. She would make an excellent companion for someone who leads a quiet life, taking leisurely walks, and visiting with friends. She'd love to be part of your daily routine!

09-10-03: Goldie's bloodwork came back "excellent", so she will have dental work done this week or next, and a small benign cyst removed from her eyelid. After the surgery we will put her on non-steroidal anti inflammatory medication for some lower back discomfort. The back problem does not stop her from hopping up on the sofa or beds, or into the van when we go out. We do try to help her so it doesn't get any worse, but she is one "spunky" old dame! We are loving her company, but she is very attached to our college age son, so we would like to find her a "forever" home before he leaves at the end of this month!!!

09-13-03: Goldie has been in foster care for 2 weeks

"Kelsa"
Kelsa is an owner surrender to a local shelter. Her owners were in law enforcement and found they didn't have time for the attention Kelsa needed. If possible she keeps me in her sight 24/7. The only place I get privacy is the shower...she hates "sprinkler" water, but loves swimming. She is a 2 year old yellow lab mix, weighing 52 lbs. She had been an outside dog. Her vet check was good, and she is up to date with shots, and spayed.

We have been working on house training, and that is going very well. In fact she has had no accidents in the past week. She does not do well confined, so has not been crate trained, but can be left in the house for short periods with no problems. She is well socialized, plays well with the other dogs. She would benefit from an obedience class using positive reinforcement. She wants to be next to her "special" person much of the time for reassurance, and will push people or other dogs aside to get there. For that reason, and because of her high energy level she would do best in a family with children over 12 years. Our family cat keeps his distance, although she has been quite gentle with him. It would need some work to make her reliably "safe" around cats!

When off leash in wide open spaces she "tracks", nose to the ground for considerable distances. She would make a good working dog for the right trainer as she is very eager to please, and food motivated.

As of 09-13-03 she has been in foster care for four weeks.

"Bear"

I do dalmatian rescue but I have a 7-8 year old rottie I am currently boarding at the Vet Hospital I work at. He has a skin condition that I am getting treated but he needs a place to go. He belonged to someone that became homeless and I ended up with the dog.

Bear gets along with most dogs as long as they don't challenge him, he is a big boy about 140 to 150 lbs. He appears to be house trained because he keeps his kennel area clean. He was mostly an outdoor dog but I'm sure since he keeps his kennel clean he would do well indoors. I'm not sure about cats. I don't have alot of information on him because he was just dumped in my lap one evening when we were really busy. He is located in MD at Main Street Veterinary Hospital in Reisterstown. He will be UTD on shots and HW tested before he goes.

"Milkbone"

Milkbone is a sweetheart looking for his forever home. He is a one-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog, who was born both deaf and blind, and has the sweetest, happiest personality you could imagine. He is pure white with just a few caramel colored spots, medium sized at 36 lbs., and 24 inches at the withers. His disabilities are a result of merle to merle breeding, sometimes referred to as "lethal whites". His eyes are not formed properly, but it appears that he does see shadows. He is neutered, house-broken, crate-trained, and has learned to sit, lay down and walks wonderfully on a leash. He even jogs at a great pace!

Milkbone was originally found as a stray and saved from euthanasia because of his outstanding temperament. He is now in foster care near Chicago, Illinois. He would love another dog about his size to play with. Currently, he lives with three small dogs, who are not very interested in playing with him. He is extremely bright, and we found, learns VERY quickly when all household members use the same touch cues and are very consistent with the rules of the house! He would be fine with other dogs, cats, but will need a home without small children due to his need for consistent routine and arrangement of objects/furnishings. For more information on this outstanding boy, please email HoneyLucy1@msn.com.

"Mallory"

Mallory is the sweetest little girl. She is Cattledog color, with a Terrier personality. She is about 2 1/2 years old, UTD on shots, on heartworm preventative, spayed, microchipped, crated trained, housebroken, very well behaved & trustworthy.

Mallory is a small dog, only weighting 18#, she is built like a leggy Terrier not like a Cattledog & she has a wire-haired coat. She gets along great with all people, children, other animals & she likes to stay near her people.

Mallory is missing one eye, the poor girl & we have no idea how. She must have suffered horribly since she had no Vet treatment for it till she got into rescue. If interested in Mallory please contact us at TLTCokey@aol.com or call 636-931-6785 located in MO adoption fee $100

"Keira"
Keira is a beautiful, sweet & loving girl. She is part Cattledog & we are not sure what else, but believe she may have some Corgi in her. Keira's coloring is quite unique, a gorgeous yellow sable color.

Keira is about 4 years old, housebroken, crate trained, UTD on shots & heartworm preventive, very well behaved & has super house manners. She gets along great with other dogs. She is so well behaved she doesn't like it if the puppies misbehave. She never hurts them but lets them know they should be good.

Keira is a touch over weigh, but is getting her figure back. She loves to run & play with the other dogs or just to walk around & hang with me. She is a very loyal & loving dog. If interested in Keira email us at TLTCokey@aol.com or call 636-931-6785 in MO adoption fee $100
