"Chance"
|
This 6 month old female is just full of personality. She is very playful. She loves to go on walks. Her tail is always wagging and she loves to carry a ball around.
Chance is small for a Staffordshire mix. She is a quiet dog. She's not a barker. She will need lots of toys to chew on. We have a lot of different people who come and walk dogs for us and she just loves all of them even if she has never seen them before.
Chance came to us as a stray running down the interstate. She was very lucky one of our local law enforcement officers saw her and picked her up. I have named her Chance so I would love to see her get a chance at being in a loving home.

"Dixie"

Dixie is a five month old shepherd mix. She is real good on a leash and loves to play in water. We have a small pool and she loves to try and swim in it. She would be the perfect companion for someone who also loves water.
Dixie loves to play with other dogs and doesn't mind a cat that will put up with her. She was found as a stray at a young age. She will sit when prompted. She is real easy to train with a treat system.
She is just one girl who wants to please and is most interested in being with people.

"Poco"
|
Poco is a hound mix, of approximately 6 months of age. He was rescued from deathrow at a local high-kill Animal Control facility. He is neutered, up to date on his vax, and was dewormed with Drontal on Jan 10th.
Poco was apparently a Christmas present that didn't work out for the irresponsible caretaker. He arrived at Animal Control wearing a pink halter, with hearts on it.
This little guy is FULL of affection and just wants to be included in his people's daily activities, and life. He is crate-trained, walks well on-leash, gets along well with other dogs, plays nicely with all sizes, and is ready to find his forever people and life.

"Lozen"

Lozen is a Chihuahua mix. She is approximately 2 years old, and weighs 9lbs.
She was rescued from a high-kill Animal Control facility in western NC, in December.
She has since been spayed, is up to date on all her vax, is on heartworm preventative, was dewormed with Drontal on Jan 10th, and is ready to be a companion for a single person without children.
Lozen is afraid of quick movements that children would inevitably display. She gets along very well with other small dogs, and has a spirit that doesn't quit.

"Davy"
|
Davy is a sweet, gorgeous little six-year-old silver poodle who needs new
humans to love. He becomes best friends with everyone he meets - don't
adopt him if you are looking for a guard dog! He has lived with the same
family since they adopted him from a wonderful breeder at eight weeks of
age. The family (in Carrollton, TX) has since had three children in two
years and cannot continue to give him the exercise and attention he needs.
He is a neutered male, current on all vaccines, and completely housetrained.
Since he has had to compete with three little people for a year, this sweet
guy has become somewhat separation-anxious and food-possesive. These issues
improve, however, every time he gets some love and some exercise. He loves
to play fetch, go on walks, and cuddle on laps. At 14 pounds, he is a
perfect lap size. He would prefer a home with no cats, but does fine with
children and other dogs.
Davy is a wonderful poodle who helped his first human mommy recover from
depression, and is eager to find a new family to love.

"Rusty"
This 3-year-old boy is one of those old fashioned, very stylish looking cock-a-poos. Completely house broken and very compliant, he quickly started learning tricks his very first day in foster care. This very warm, cuddly good natured dog is good with children and gets along REALLY well with other dogs.
Rusty loves to walk, does well in the car, gives kisses on command and his pictures don’t do him justice. He is MUCH better looking in person! He’s been checked by a vet, is up to date on all of his shots – enjoys good health – and has been neutered.

"Puppy Girl"

I found a black lab mix puppy under my deck two weeks ago. She was all wet from the rain, scared and shaking. I fed her left overs in my fridge and started to become friends with her. I took her to the vet and had her checked out and got her all the shots she needed and medicine to keep the fleas and ticks off her. She is healthy and about a year old. She has a beautiful black coat with a white mark down her belly. We have not given her a name for the fact that we can't keep her. I have been calling her Puppy Girl. She is very timid when you first approach her. She gets down on the ground with her tail between her legs.
The neighbors and I think that she has been abused. Once she gets to know you she is the sweetest dog. I have been very cautious not to make her feel cornered or take food or treats away from her. She has growled at me but nothing more. She just needs someone she can trust and love her that's all.
I have taken her for many walks around the neighborhood and children have come running up to us wanting to pet her. She is loving and friendly towards kids...kissing them and wagging her tail. She has been friendly and playful with other dogs in the neighborhood as well. I have been keeping her in the house. She has not done any damage, chewing or anything bad. She listens and is well behaved. You can leave food on the coffee table and she won't touch it. But she does like people food. She plays ball and brings it back. She walks so nice without trying to pull you.
I have been working on housebreaking her. She been doing great so far. She loves water and I had no problem giving her a bath. She loves to go for rides in the car and is ok to take around large crowds of people. She is very sweet, loving and well behaved. She is a quiet dog. She is not high strung at all. "Blondie"
Blondie is a Corgi/Lab mix, spayed female. About 3 years old. She
is a medium size dog who weighs about 40 lbs. She is up to date on all her shots,
dewormed and Heartworm tested (negative). She is a very playfull and loving girl
who wants a chance to make you happy. She rides very well in the car.
Blondie is an excellent dog for any lover of long summer walks. She enjoys the outdoors
and a good game of tug-of-war. Assumed to have been abused by past owners, Blondie
requires a gentle hand and genuine consideration. The type of dog that tilts her
head to listen to you talk, her one ear up/one ear down persona is perfect for
anyone looking for a smart and friendly companion. While playful with other dogs
and puppies she is scared of cats, she tries her best to avoid them and is uncomfortable
with proximity to them. Blondie is also a vigilant watch dog, sleeping in bed
with you or curled outside your door, she is happy to see you whenever possible.

"Betsy"
Betsy is a beautiful, loving lab/pitbull mix. Spayed and up to date on all her shots. She is about one year old and weighs about 30 lbs. On our nightly dog walk (our dogs are all rescues) we found this stray female dog. She took up following us with our dogs’ home. She was starving, dehydrated with a sun burnt swollen tongue and a limp. She was so emaciated that we could count her vertebrae down through her tail. We fed and gave water to her, then brought her inside. The look in hers eyes was desperate. She would not have survived another day.
With all that she has been through, Betsy is a sweetheart and is recuperating wonderfully. She is affectionate and playful, likes to be held (a real lap dog), gets along well with other dogs and people, and is house trained. She has picked up quickly on our routine and is learning commands (sit, stay etc.) and getting better on the leash but still pulls. She has already improved and in time will be a great companion, she will make someone very happy.

"Romeo"

I am a 5 year old playful, extremely affectionate, fun loving neutered/housebroken Lab Spaniel (Black Lab/Brittany Spaniel) who loves older children and other dogs. I have been through puppy head start and Basic obedience classes. I also assisted temporarily with training other dogs in basic commands. I know the following commands: sit, down, wait/ok, jump up, outside, and come. I also know the following tricks: high-five, give me paw, and speak.
I love pup-peroni, liver treats and other soft treats to give me the extra motivation. My favorite activities are fetch with a small branch from a tree, tug of war with a rope toy, going for walks, and letting you chase me in a fenced yard.
I loved my last family and they loved me, but with twin infants, they are now unable to give me the attention and exercise that I'm used to having. I give great kisses and hugs and would love a family who will give me the same in return.

"Rogue"

Rogue is a female, spayed, Lab/springer spaniel, 35lbs, 4 years old, petite love Bug. She is a very special dog who is looking for a new home since her owner does not have time to take care of her because of her job.
Rogue has grown up in a house with many other animals such as dogs, cats snakes and mice and she loves them all. She is also very good with babies and small children. She is full of love and all she wants is to cuddle with her special person. She will cuddle up on the floor with you, she will also sit on your lap if allowed. Rogue loves going to the dog park and is great on leash. She knows sit, down, shakes paw and also gives a high ten.
This dog is incredibly well behaved. Did I mentioned she is also potty trained. She is a great companion, she will let you know when something is wrong but other wise you don't hear a peep, she does not bark unless asked to. Rogue does have a sensitive tummy due to her thyroid needs. She is on thyroid medication but it is very cheap about $12 a month and she also must be on a bland diet. She will do great in a home with other dogs or with children, or even by herself if the owner spends tiem with her. She needs an owner who is going to take time for her and give her a wonderful life.

"Angel, Aija, Roman and Sy"
Angel (upper left) is a female Shepherd mix. She is very intelligent & willing to do just about anything. She loves to play Ball!!! She loves attention and is a great friend. She hasn’t been around a lot of kids. When exposed she has done fine. She would love a farm or lots of room to run & play. She was 7 on November 27, 2004. She was trained by a woman. Excellent watch dog. Will alert you immediately of people that don’t belong. Or just announce arrival. She was spayed at 6 months old. She is good with other dogs and is submissive. She is timid. Has been part of a 5 dog family.
Roman (lower left) is a male Rottweiler who turned 7 on February 26. He is a purebred but has no papers. He will be neutered before adoptoin. One of the biggest rotty’s I have seen with a very large head. Beautiful, extremely dark mahogany markings. He shows some aging but is very playful and extremely intelligent. He is very intimidating, but like I said, he loves to play ball and chase sticks. He has been an inside dog for 7 years but used to live on a farm and chase deer and rabbits. He is very protective and is quite the watch dog.
Aijalon Gilead, she goes by the name Aija which sounds like Asia, (upper right) is very big, not overweight. She is a spayed, purebred female rottweiler that turned 5 years old on March 23rd. She is tall and has excellent markings. Once again she has no papers. She is dysplastic in her hips and her front elbows. We brought her to West L.A. for surgery on her elbows and had the best surgeon work on her at a very young age. Ever since her surgery she has recovered 100% and she acts like a dear. She has a very big loving heart and enjoys people. She has always been an inside dog. She is very good with baby’s as well as all people.
Finally the 4th dog is a mix breed. Possibly Siberian Husky mixed with Rotty or maybe Burnese Mountain Dog. He is neutered and his name is Ezra Simon but goes by the name Sy. He has icy blue eyes and is very smart. He is cautious of people but will become your best friend ever. Always talking to you. He is one dog that is intimidating looking because of his eyes but he feels he is the real lap dog. He has also been an inside dog.
All of these dogs have been inside their whole life except for the last 3 months. They live with each other very well and the two youngest live with each other very well. They truly are the greatest dogs and even though they are big dogs and older, they still have a lot of love for anyone who wants to take care of them.

Maxine is a female spayed 2yr old pure bred rottie. She was an owner surrender and is now in search of her forever home. She is friendly with everyone including children but would do best with older children. She gets along good with male dogs but not females.
