"Charlie"

Charlie was born on September 9, 2002 just four days after his mom was brought into rescue. He weighed in at a whopping 5 ounces and is now 4.4 pounds. We expect he'll weigh approximately 9-10 pounds when full grown. He is an energetic little boy who spends his days romping and playing with his brother Bentley (see below), his mom and foster brothers and sisters. He is crate-trained and working on house-training.

Charlie has had the first three of a series of four puppy shots. His new owner will be responsible for the fourth and his rabies shot. He will be neutered the first week of January then he will be ready to go to his new home.

Potential adopters must live in the Northern VA, MD or DC area.

"Buster"

My name is Buster - I am an English Staffordshire Terrier, a small pit bull. I need a new home, my guardians love me dearly, but I have become an escape artist, breaking through their wood fence. I like to chase squirrels and cats. I adore kids and adults, I am very lovable. I also enjoy chewing bones and playing tug-o-war.

I am about 45 lbs and 2 yrs old, male, nuetered. In the past I have sometimes been protective of my guardians towards other male dogs. But I listen when they tell me to be nice. I am extremely sweet.

"Spot"

Spot is a male Terrier/Dalmation mix, or possibly Cattle dog mix. He is 10 months old and is medium sized. He weighs about 45-50lbs. He is a very happy and friendly dog. He loves to play with people and he is very affectionate. He is not good with other dogs on the first meeting, but is good with them once he gets to know them. He lives with dogs now and does excellent. He is good with cats. He would be an excellent choice for a family looking for a fun-loving medium sized dog. He is smart and responsive and would probably do well in obedience.

"Boxer and Pointer"

I just adopted two animals from the Memphis Animal Shelter so that they would not be put down. They are both altered and have had their first round of shots.

The boxer mix is a sweet boy that wags his whole body. I do not know a whole lot about his personality or training yet. I do know he is good natured and seems to enjoy other dogs. His age is approximately 2 years old.

The pointer is a one year old female that is somewhat shy but very sweet. She was calm even amongst the chaos of shelter living. She has been identified as an English Pointer, but has no papers.

"Zoe"






Zoe is 8mnths old, a wonderful playmate and friend. She loves toys, walks, and loves to play outside in the yard. She has been spayed, is current on all of her shots, including her rabies shot, and has been on-leash obedience trained. She is very smart and loves everyone. She loves children and other dogs.

"Bismark"

Akc doxie long-haired black/tan.. His name is Bismark "Busy" for short. He is a neutered 6 year old male. His owner went into a rest home and she turned him over to my rescue. She was once going to have to move because of his barking so she had his voice box removed so he does not bark.

He loves his toys and needs to be more active since he is overweight. He loves kids and some other dogs. Not sure about the kitties.

"Abel"

Abel #4483 is a blue merle male almost 2 years old with one blue and one marbled blue/brown eye. He also sports a full tail.

Abel is crate-trained and knows the "sit" and "shake" commands. He loves to retrieve balls and play with toys. He also enjoys splashing around in the kiddy pool.

Abel gets along ok with other dogs. He would do best with older children due to his energy level and size and loves to chase cats so he needs a home with no cats or really dog savvy ones. He is a real love bug that never met a stranger and thinks he's a lap dog!

"Rascal"
Found this little guy wandering in the woods, hot, hungry, broken toe and really scared! He's been to the Vet. and has had an A on his health. He has all shots, he's been nuetered, heartworm negative and on prevention! Approximate age is close to a year! Weighs 20 lbs.

Rascal looks like a large "Yorkshire Terrier", a really cute little "Benji" with an underbite that is adorable. His hair as been shaved because he was loaded with sticky balls. On average it was about 2" long. Doesn't seem to shed? Really lovable little guy, just loves everyone, including dogs, cats and little children. Extremely intelligent, learns very quickly!

"Lollie"
Lollie is a three year old Chihuahua female. She's spayed, on HW preventative, and utd date on shots. She's only four pounds and is a picky eater, so her intake has to be watched carefully. Her tongue is always sticking out and makes her look quite comical. She available for adoption in the Carolinas only. No boys, and no small children please. "Buster"

Buster is a one year old male Chihuahua. The picture was taken when he was a baby and first came into rescue. He's the white one with the red ears. His brother has already been adopted, but we've not received any qualifying applications on Buster. He's extremely allergic to fleas, so must remain on Advantage all year. He's oversized at about seven or eight pounds. He gets along well with other dogs and is very playful. He will be shy at first, but should warm up to a new family in a day or so.
